Luis
Queral, M.D., the director of the Center, is
nationally and internationally recognized for his knowledge and
scientific
contributions
in employing state-of-the-art vascular surgical techniques. During his
more than 20-year career in vascular surgery, Dr. Queral has published
numerous articles about vascular conditions and treatments, organized
many national and international medical conferences, and given
over 100
presentations to scientific and medical groups around the world.
Elliott
Badder, M.D., is the Chairman of the Department of Surgery
at Mercy Medical Center. During
his more than 30 years as a surgeon, Dr. Badder has also taught residents
on surgical rotation, written numerous articles and abstracts for prestigious
medical journals, and made many educational and scientific presentations.
Dr. Badder has done an enormous amount of work with the vascular system,
and served as Director of Mercy's Vascular Laboratory from 1978 to 1997.
Paul
Lucas, M.D., joined Mercy in 2002 as an attending vascular
surgeon, completing his fellowship in vascular surgery at the University
of Maryland. He received his surgical residency training at Union Memorial
Hospital. Dr. Lucas is board certified in general and vascular surgery.
He is a member of numerous medical professional organizations including
the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and
Med-Chi of Maryland. He has a variety of research articles to his credit,
on such topics as the stenting of the carotid artery in vascular surgery
practice.
Richard Wilkerson, M.D. joined
The Vascular Center at Mercy after completing his fellowship in vascular
surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He previously completed
a residency in general surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center, where he received the Resident Physician of the Year award and
served as chief administrative resident. A full-time surgeon with experience
as a teacher and published author, Dr. Wilkerson is dedicated to the
treatment of vascular disease.
