Albert J. Polito, M.D.

Albert J. Polito, M.D.

Albert J. Polito, M.D., is the Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at Mercy Medical Center as well as the Director of The Lung Center at Mercy.

Dr. Polito earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and trained at NYU Medical Center – Bellevue Hospital. After serving as Senior Chief Resident, he trained in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He joined the Hopkins faculty as Assistant Professor of Medicine following his fellowship and comes to Mercy after serving as Director of the Pulmonary Clinics at the Johns Hopkins Asthma and Allergy Center, and Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program.

Dr. Polito is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Thoracic Society, and currently serves as the Maryland Governor for the American College of Chest Physicians.

Dr. Polito has published widely and lectured extensively on a national level and also was named "2011 Humanitarian of the Year" by the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation.

 

George M. Boyer, M.D.

George M. Boyer, M.D.

George M. Boyer, M.D., is currently Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mercy Medical Center.  Formerly Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at Mercy, Dr. Boyer has been a Mercy physician for over 20 years. He completed his residency at Mercy Medical Center and a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at George Washington University Hospital. Dr. Boyer earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Boyer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care and his areas of interest include obstructive airways disease, high altitude illness and diving medicine.

 

Audrey H. Liu, M.D.

Debra A. Vachon, M.D.

Audrey H. Liu, M.D., graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received her medical degree from the McGill University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Dr. Liu subsequently completed fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine as well as Sleep Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine, Dr. Liu has extensive clinical and research experience.

In addition to publishing papers, she has presented her research on a national level and is the recipient of a National Institutes of Health Ruth Kirchstein National Research Scientist Award. Dr. Liu is skilled in the full range of pulmonary medicine, with special interests in sleep disorders and interventional bronchoscopy.

William E. Randall, M.D.

William E. Randall, M.D.

William E. Randall, M.D., serves as the Medical Director of The Lung Center at Lutherville Personal Physicians, one of Mercy’s community-based sites. Dr. Randall brings vast expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. 

Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine, Dr. Randall received his medical degree, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine, and fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Dr. Randall formerly served as Chief of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He also served on the medical faculties of the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine. Dr. Randall has been a long-time consultant to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Dr. Randall has authored numerous publications and has served as a speaker and guest lecturer for various medical committees. Dr. Randall is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Maryland Thoracic Society, Maryland Medical Chirurgical Society, Southern Maryland Association, Baltimore County Medical Association, and American Medical Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Physicians.
